Frequently asked questions
- Which standards underpin environmental programs?
- It depends on the program and agency. Noise programs follow NR-15 and CONAMA resolutions; water-quality programs follow CONAMA Resolution 357/2005 and Ministry of Health ordinances; PRAD follows CONAMA Resolution 6/2009 and state rules; risk management follows Law 12.651/2012 and sector technical standards.
- Are environmental programs the same as licence conditions?
- Not always. Conditions are obligations assumed in the licence; environmental programs are technical instruments that can be used to meet one or more conditions with reports and evidence.
